You are here: Home / Prima Access Control / Alpha Central – The core of Prima’s access control system

The core within each access control system is the central. When developing our Alpha central, we have highly prioritized flexibility, the needs and requirements of the users and adaptability to future technology. The Alpha central is developed according to present and future requirements and needs in mind. Subsequently, there is a variety of integration options.
Installation flexibility is generally high. Depending on the conditions, it is possible to connect the Alpha centrals via a TCP/IP network and/or by using a traditional RS485 bus. The Alpha central can operate and control up to two or four online doors and comes in three different versions. There is the standard version and two upgraded versions with, USB connection, output relays and, respectively, with or without PoE function. All versions are suitable for a DIN rail installation.
The system is based on the same type of components regardless of size and functionality which makes it possible to upgrade, expand and/or adjust the system without having to change the hardware. This implies that it is possible to upgrade e.g. the firmware and the software on the Alpha central if new requirements or needs should arise after installing the Alpha central.

The Alpha centrals with PoE function has a USB port, which makes it possible to connect a USB dongle. Through the connected USB dongle, it is possible to control the central through wireless LAN, and it allows the central to do an automatic backup to a USB-key. There is also the possibility to use two additional input- and output relays, which can be used for integration of alarm as well as extended door control or other similar functions. The functionality of the central expands through script-modules according to customer requirements.
